Our Mission

Winchester Rescue Mission has been serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and poverty in our community since 1973. Deeply rooted in our history are a love of Christ and a desire to share that love with others through critical services and life-changing programs.

When you see our neighbors in need, you see individuals who have lost so much: their homes, their families and relationships, and their hope for a better and brighter tomorrow. What you don't see is what so many of our neighbors have found. They've found a path out of homelessness and out of poverty. A path towards security, self-sufficiency, and confident autonomy.

Since Winchester Rescue Mission's beginning, God has expanded our ministries in incredible ways, allowing us to help thousands of men, women, and children walk a path of life transformation.

Mission Statement

The Winchester Rescue Mission provides high-quality care to individuals devastated by the effects of poverty and homelessness by offering healing from the past, help for the present, and hope for the future.

Statement of Faith

Winchester Rescue Mission is a non-denominational Christian organization.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, ultimately authoritative Word of God.

We believe there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is deity, that He was born of a virgin, that we are redeemed by His atoning death through His shed blood, that He bodily resurrected and ascended into Heaven, and that He will come again in power and great glory.

We believe that people are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord, at which time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.  This event we hold to be an experience, rather than a doctrinal supposition.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom Christ indwells each believer, enabling him to live a godly life of obedience as he reaches for maturity.

We believe the Holy Spirit unites all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one body, the church.

Financial Stewardship

Winchester Rescue Mission is committed to the highest standards of financial stewardship, accountability, and transparency.

We are an accredited charity with Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), and we are certified Platinum by Guidestar. We are also members and accredited by Citygate Network, which holds us accountable for stewardship and other vital aspects of the ministry.
